Wellness Day Event Held!
On Wednesday, July 8, Wellness Day was held in collaboration with the University Co-op Student Committee.
This event was conducted with the support of the “Connected Through the Power of Nutrition Project,” an initiative led by the Japan Nutrition Practical Science Strategy Organization in partnership with corporations and organizations. The project aims to address nutritional challenges both in Japan and abroad through collaboration with registered dietitians and nutritionists.
Now in its fourth year, the event featured the free distribution of more than 600 kiwifruits provided by sponsoring companies, along with health education materials produced and published by the Japan Nutrition Practical Science Strategy Organization. In addition, a registered dietitian conducted a Nutrition Seminar attended by 286 participants.
With the cooperation of the Gifu City Public Health Center, 89 participants also took part in a dietary balance assessment using the SAT Food Education System, which calculates nutritional intake simply by placing selected food models on a sensor.
Furthermore, 16 participants joined a session titled “Simple Yoga: Using a Wall,” led by a yoga instructor. The event was well received by both students and faculty/staff members. Participants shared positive feedback, including comments such as, “I knew this event is held every year, so I was looking forward to it again this year,” and “I learned how important it is to consume adequate nutrition and calories.”
We hope that this event helped deepen participants’ interest in and understanding of nutrition, encouraging them to apply this knowledge to their daily eating habits.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
